In 2008, a 25,000 square foot expansion with even more exhibits opened. The Magic House welcomes 400,000 visitors a year, making it one of the nation's most popular children’s museums. Through a series of expansions, The Magic House has grown from 5,500 square feet to 55,000 square feet, featured hundreds of new exhibits, and have welcomed over 15 million visitors! Family Plus ($250) is a great option for parents and kids from a single household who want to get into both museums. Founded in 1979, this interactive children’s museum provides fun hands-on learning activities that encourage creativity. The museum staff loves to help children understand science, history, and the world around them through exhibits that involve them in the action.

The Magic House has frequent special events, generally giving participants access to play in the museum afterward. One of the most popular, Big Truck Day, will blow the minds of your young vehicle lovers. Generally held in the fall, it’s a ticketed event that brings cranes, fire trucks, bucket lifts, sleeper cab trucks, and more up close for examination and exploration. Admission also includes a hot dog lunch and private playtime in Trike Town. Cultural events, too, like an observance of the Hindu festival of colors, Holi, and a German Easter celebration, draw crowds. Finally, holiday breakfasts and evenings with characters like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are annual traditions.

In order to receive this rate, a minimum of one adult chaperone is required for every five children. The Magic House is one of the top Children’s Museum’s in the country, inspiring children to discover the world through play as they explore hundreds of exciting interactive exhibits. This exhibit transports kids back to the time of dinosaurs and encourages basic scientific learning. Enjoyed the experience, on time flights, friendly staff the WiFi was intros d kept cutting out. 1st flight was delayed because of broken radio, missed connection but they got us on very next plane 1 hr later.

Then Randy attempted to berate me when I boarded with my group. I was seated in an exit roll with a young man with a disability that exhibited difficulty controlling and settling himself. Flight was fine, it was delayed but only 30 minutes, staff were efficient, lady making announcements at LAX was really hard to understand but the rest were great. Not sure on a flight departing at midnight can be much better but it was late arriving and I had an early day so really just the logistics.
It’s grown phenomenally since then, adding on wings and a huge backyard. You can bring your own food to eat in the outdoor Garden Pavilion, which offers seating on a first come, first serve basis. Food is also available inside the museum at The Picnic Basket Cafe. Saint Louis Public Library cardholders can check out a free pass, just like a book, for admission to MADE, valid for admission for two adults and up to four children from the same household.
Our programs follow the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to make sure that we support teachers' curricula. Grab all the neighborhood kids–or your local youth group–and you can have tickets for just $6! You need 15 people to get the group rate, with one adult for each 5 kids you bring.
They’ve made a lot of improvements to the house while waiting to reopen, including touchless faucets and toe kicks for bathroom doors. Exhibits have been spaced out, while some that are too difficult to make germ safe have been closed. Some areas have also been made one way. In 2005, Zagat’s "U.S. Family Travel Guide" called The Magic House museum in St. Louis the country's best attraction for children. Yep, even Disney’s Magic Kingdom took a backseat to The Magic House. Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis on the private lot to the west of and directly across the street from The Magic House, MADE for kids’ building. Additional street parking is also available. Find thousands of other hotels, flights, car rentals and package deals with KAYAK. I hope to avoid flying with them in the future.
Return flights were both delayed by 1 hr each. Left 2 hours later for delayed I had to take care a kid with special need since people don’t want to move to accommodate the rest of the family. It wasn’t bad but that made me upset that people can be that selfish. Last minute gate change nearly caused us to miss our flight. Change was not announced or displayed in the main board at the old gate. When we landed we had to wait 20 minutes because there was another plane at the assigned gate.
Thankfully full refund and appreciate that. I appreciate discounted airline but felt they could've done more for customer inconvenience. American Airlines “Randy” questioned why I needed preboarding and denied my request for same.
Ask at the circulation desk of your branch. Once used for admission, the pass (issued on a lanyard) will be collected at the desk and returned to the library. I was charged $99 for a carryon on the 4th out of 4 flights only. It was placed under the seat just like the other times. I’m a boy mom, crafter and former reporter who loves taking my kids to superhero movies. Join me for a mix of traditional kid crafts, STEM fun and 3D printing.
Senior citizens (65+) receive $1.00 off admission per person. The good news/bad news is that temporary safety regulations have limited their visitor capacity to 150 people per session. This means tickets could go super fast, but also that there will be no crowds.
